Jennifer Ehle (“Fifty Shades of Grey”) will star alongside Cynthia Nixon in Emily Dickinson biopic “A Quiet Passion.”
Double Dutch International will begin selling international rights during the Cannes Film Market. UTA and Indomitable Entertainment hold domestic sales rights.
Terence Davies is directing, with production kicking off this week in Belgium. Sol Papadopoulos and Roy Boulter are producing for Hurricane Films, with Potemkino co-producing. Executive producers include Jason Van Eman and Ben McConley from Weathervane Productions, Dominic Ianno and Stuart Pollok from Indomitable Entertainment and DDI’s Jason Moring.
The film focuses on Dickinson’s early days as a schoolgirl to her later years as a reclusive, unrecognized artist. Her highly regarded poetry went largely undiscovered while she was alive.
Ehle portrayed Anastasia Steele’s mother in “Fifty Shades” and starred in “Zero Dark Thirty.”
Nixon is represented by UTA and Brookside Artist Management. Ehle is represented UTA and by Independent Talent Group in the U.K.
