Jeffrey Donovan Portraying JFK in Rob Reiner’s ‘LBJ’

Jeffrey Donovan will portray President John F. Kennedy opposite Woody Harrelson’s Lyndon Baines Johnson in Rob Reiner’s movie “LBJ.”

The cast includes Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lady Bird Johnson, Michael Stahl-David as Bobby Kennedy, Richard Jenkins as Richard Russell, Bill Pullman as Ralph Yarborough and Kim Allen as Jackie Kennedy.

Filming is slated to begin in late September in New Orleans, Dallas and Washington, D.C.

Donovan’s credits include “Burn Notice”, “Hitch”, “Changeling” and the upcoming “Sicario.” Johnson was John F. Kennedy’s running mate in the 1960 election and his 1963 assassination marked the beginning of a turbulent decade in American history.

Reiner will direct from a script by Joey Hartstone, which follows Johnson’s ascension from the poor hill country of West Texas to the corridors of power in Washington.

LBJ” is being produced by Acacia Entertainment, Savvy Media Holdings, Castle Rock Entertainment and Star Thrower Entertainment. Matthew George is producing the film alongside Reiner, Liz Glotzer, Michael R. Williams, Tim White and Trevor White.

The project is being financed by Acacia Entertainment, Savvy Media Holdings, Tadross Media Group, Parkside Pictures and ITS Capital. Executive producers include Martin Shafer, Elizabeth A. Bell, Danny Roth, Damiano Tucci, Michael Tadross Jr., Chris Conover, Allan Mandelbaum and Julie May.
