Jordan Tappis and Beau Willimon (“House of Cards”) are exec producing the short doc “Curt,” which focuses on a 49-year-old competitive surfer who was diagnosed with autism as a child and bowed on Tuesday.

Directed and edited by Brendan Hearne, Tappis and Willimon will serve as exec producers on the film.

The story revolves around surfer Curt Harper. Diagnosed with autism as a child, Harper faced many difficult challenges growing up, but one thing that came easy was surfing. Over the past 21 years, Curt has become a beloved fixture in the Southern California surf scene, having played an unlikely yet vital role in the growth and development of multiple generations of young surfers.
