Six months before its Aug. 28 opening, Fox has released the first trailer for “Hitman: Agent 47,” its upcoming video game adaptation starring “Homeland’s” Rupert Friend as a genetically engineered assassin.
Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Thomas Kretschmann and Ciaran Hinds star in the film, directed by Aleksander Bach. It’s a sequel to 2007’s “Hitman,” which starred Timothy Olyphant, Dougray Scott and Olga Kurylenko.
Fox also released a satirical viral marketing video in which the assassin prevents YouTube stars and fans from leaking the film’s official trailer by killing them in a variety of ways:
Producers are Charles Gordon, Adrian Askarieh, Alex Young and Skip Woods.
