A24 has acquired U.S. rights to Jeremy Saulnier’s horror-thriller “Green Room,” starring Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots and Alia Shawkat.

“Green Room” premiered in May at the Cannes Film Festival, and will next be seen as the opening night selection of the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness program. A24 will release “Green Room” in the spring.

“Green Room” follows a young punk band finishing up a tour when they get an invitation to play at an isolated backwoods Oregon club. The gig turns sinister when the band members discover that the club is a haven for neo-Nazis, led by Stewart’s character.

“Green Room” was written and directed by Saulnier, who directed “Blue Ruin.” Producers are Neil Kopp, Victor Moyers and Anish Savjani. The film is a Broad Green Pictures and Filmscience production.

Christopher Tricarico at Broad Green brokered the deal on behalf of the producers.
