Following the news of all-female cast coming together, Sony has now slated its new “Ghostbusters” pic to bow on July 22, 2016.

Earlier today, it was announced that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones would star in the new pic with Paul Feig writing and directing.

Feig tweeted the release date on Tuesday, just a few hours after tweeting a picture of the cast.

Ivan Reitman is producing the pic with no plot details known at this time.

  1. Miami Sunset says:

It seems July 15th is the new release date.

  2. Felix says:

Loving the cast! Can’t wait a whole year to see this! #wiigrules

  3. this is going to be incredibly lame. None of these women are funny (most female “comedians” aren’t). They’re just going to squat and piss all over Ghostbusters.

  4. Sharnequa says:

***Spoiler Alert*** Melissa McCarthy will play a zaney, crazy lady who is just cra cra in all the wrong ways. And Kristen Wiig will play a moderate one liner jokster who’s hip and cool and who is a total dick. There will be a lot of vagina and dick jokes. And the entire movie will be shit and every Ghostbuster fan will hate it. The End.

  5. emma says:

There is absolutely nothing that could make me see this movie. I can’t stomach Kristen Wiig or Kate McKinnon. Neither of them are remotely funny.
This movie is going to tank.

  6. LOL says:

Oh man, I wish them nothing but bad luck. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Boycott this crap in the making.

  7. Rob says:

What happend to using Gillian Anderson and/or Linda Cardellini? They need to balance the comedians with the more serious actors for this to be a success.

  8. cxg says:

I can think of at least a half dozen actresses / comediennes more suited for this project other than Melissa McCarthy. She must have one hell of an agent to continue getting starring roles.

  9. Lou hodges says:

Note to writers: pleeze don’t write some political agenda into the script. I won’t pay to see lesbians at a party again, or watch Bill murray try to be deep.

  10. I am the Paw says:

    I can picture the scene…

When the new Ghostbusters arrive at their first ghost sighting – a tramp is on the sidewalk.

    He says:

“Hey, didn’t you used to be men?”

    Melissa McCarthy’s character replies:

“They were the Ghostbusters, honey. We’re the Ghostbitches!”

    And the tramp says:

    “Amen to that, sister!”

  11. jazz carpenter says:

let me be the first here to congratulate one and all for showing us how not to cast a movie…comedy is meant to be funny, but it is also suppposed to have humor, which is a very different concept…this whole project seems to be without funny, humor, or a concept…
