The action-thriller “Montana” has been acquired by Level 33 Entertainment, which has set a September 19 release for North American theaters and VOD, Variety has learned exclusively.
“Montana” stars Michelle Fairley (“Game of Thrones”), Lars Mikkelsen (“House of Cards”) and newcomer McKell David as the titular Montana. Mikkelsen plays a former Serbian commando who bonds with a 14-year-old boy to plot revenge against a powerful crime lord while trying to stay one step ahead of Fairley’s criminal investigator.
The film also stars Ashley Walter, Brad Moore, Adam Deacon and Dominique Tipper.
Mo Ali (“Shank”) directs from Jeremy Sheldon’s script. Producers are Mark Foligno, Iain Richardson and Gareth Maxwell Roberts.
The deal for the film was negotiated by James Norrie of the Salt Company International on behalf of the filmmakers and by Andreas Olavarria for Level 33 Entertainment.
