The opening day in Belgium is Universal’s biggest of all time in that market with $542,000 at 72 locations and the fourth biggest first-day launch in Belgium.
In the Philippines, “Fifty Shades” scored the biggest R-18 opening day of all time with $340,000 at 84 locations.
French Switzerland generated $136,000 at 34 sites, representing Universal’s second highest opening day of all time and the highest opening day of 2015.
The film opens in 29 other markets in Thursday and launches in the U.S. on Friday.
