Online movie ticketer Fandango has signed its first-ever agreement with Milwaukee-based Marcus Theatres, the nation’s fifth-largest exhibitor with 685 screens.

The deal was announced Tuesday along with the opening of CinemaCon. It will go into effect in the fall and bring Fandango’s screen count up to more than 26,000 in the U.S.

Fandango, a unit of NBCUniversal, said the addition of Marcus Theatres will make it the largest online ticket-seller for the nation’s top seven theater chains (Regal, AMC, Cinemark, Carmike, Marcus Theatres, Southern and Harkins).

As part of the multi-year deal, Marcus will link its online and mobile sites directly to Fandango as its preferred ticketing partner. Marcus operates in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Ohio.
