‘Entourage’ Opens Solidly With $2 Million on Tuesday Night

Warner Bros.’ “Entourage” has launched respectably with $2 million in Tuesday night previews that started at 7 p.m.

The comedy is expanding to 3,108 sites Wednesday. Warner Bros. decided in the spring to move the debut forward two days — separating it from 20th Century Fox’s comedy “Spy” and Gramercy’s “Insidious: Chapter 3.” It’s also facing the second weekend of Warner’s “San Andreas,” which dominated the box office in its opening.

Online ticket service Fandango reported Tuesday that “Entourage” had accounted for 50% of its daily sales. Recent projections have placed “Entourage” with forecasts of about $20 million for the Friday-Sunday period, four years after the HBO series ended.

Original cast members Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven reprise their roles. Series creator Doug Ellin directed from his own script. Mark Wahlberg, Rob Weiss and Stephen Levinson produce.

The film features dozens of cameos including Common, Greg Louganis, Pharrell Williams, Ed O’Neill, Russell Wilson, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Piers Morgan, Armie Hammer, Warren Buffett, Liam Neeson, Jessica Alba, Bob Saget, Tom Brady, Gary Busey, Mark Cuban, Andrew Dice Clay and David Spade.
