Disney has set Oct. 7 for its release of drama “The Girl on the Train,” starring Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett.

The movie is an adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel of the same name. Jared Leto and Chris Evans are in talks to join the cast, along with Justin Theroux.

The story follows a woman (Blunt) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect married couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the couple.

Tate Taylor is directing from Cressida Wilson’s script. Marc Platt will produce the film, while Jared LeBoff of Marc Platt Prods. will serve as executive producer.

“The Girl on the Train” is the fourth title set for Oct. 7 after Warner Bros.’ “The Accountant,” Universal’s “Monster High” and Fox’s “Gambit.”
