Eiza Gonzalez Joins Ansel Elgort in Edgar Wright’s ‘Baby Driver’

Eiza Gonzalez, one of the stars of El Rey’s “Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,” has joined the cast of “Baby Driver,” the Edgar Wright crime thriller from TriStar and MRC.

The pic stars Ansel Elgort, Jaime Foxx, Jon Hamm, Lily James and Ansel Elgort with Wright writing and directing.

Working Title principals Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan are producing along with Nira Park through her Big Talk Productions.

“Baby Driver” will see a 50/50 financing split between MRC and TriStar, with TriStar handling worldwide distribution.

The story concerns a young, talented getaway driver who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. After being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Gonzalez will play play one of the bank robbers in the movie and the girlfriend to Hamm, a vicious killer.

Production is expected to start later this year for a March 17, 2017, release date.

“Dusk Till Dawn” marked Gonzalez’s English-language debut. She plays the role made famous by Salma Hayek in the original film. She also appeared in “Jem and the Holograms.”

Gonzalez is repped by CAA and Management 360. The news was first reported the Hollywood Reporter.
