Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are in final negotiations to acquire U.S. rights to the romantic comedy “Miss You Already,” starring Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette, Variety has learned.

The film is directed by “Twilight’s” Catherine Hardwicke, and tells the story of two friends–one of whom discovers she’s pregnant as the other learns she has breast cancer.

“Miss You Already” was produced by Christopher Simon at S Films, with financing from New Sparta Films. The Salt Company handled international sales of the film at Cannes, and CAA worked on domestic rights.

Lionsgate had a prolific Cannes 2015, acquiring several high-profile projects, including “Genius,” starring Colin Firth and Jude Law; “Sea of Trees” (with Roadside), headlined by Matthew McConaughey; and “A Hologram for the King” (with Roadside and Saban), starring Tom Hanks.

The picture shot in England last fall, and co-stars British heartthrob Dominic Cooper and Jacqueline Bisset.
