Warner Bros. has tapped longtime producer Denise Di Novi to make her directorial debut with the thriller “Unforgettable.”

“Belle” director Amma Asante was initially attached to helm the project and Kerry Washington was in talks to star, but the two are no longer involved.

Di Novi is producing the film with her partner Alison Greenspan. Christina Hodson is writing the script for “Unforgettable,” which centers on a man whose new spouse is menaced by his ex-wife.

Di Novi has produced a long list of films for Warner Bros., going back to Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns” in 1992 and including “Crazy Stupid Love,” “Nights in Rodanthe,” “If I Stay” and the two “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films.
