Streaming service Dance Network is partnering with Das Films on the upcoming dance movie “Heartbeats,” directed by Duane Adler from his own script.

Myriad Pictures and Das Films made the announcement Friday at the American Film Market, where Myriad is selling “Heartbeats.” Production will begin in India at the end of the year.

Dance Network is a subscription-based streaming-video service devoted entirely to dance programming. Adler wrote and created the first two “Step Up” movies” and “Save the Last Dance” and most recently wrote and directed the dance movie “Make Your Move” for Lionsgate.

“Heartbeats” centers on a feisty female American hip-hop dancer who travels to India with her family for a wedding and falls in love — both with a new style of dance, and with a determined young man who introduces it to her.

“Heartbeats” is being produced by Sriram Das through his Das Films banner and Karine Martin through her Mediabiz banner, alongside Andrea Chung, Dileep Singh Rathore and his company On The Road India.
