Universal has set a holiday season release of Dec. 9, 2016, for Christmas romance “Let It Snow.”

The project is based on the collection by John Green (“The Fault in Our Stars”), Maureen Johnson (“13 Little Blue Envelopes”) and Lauren Myracle (“Internet Girls” series).

The studio acquired movie rights to “Let It Snow” in September. Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuber (“Ted”) and Dylan Clark (“Planet of the Apes” series) will produce from a script by “Pitch Perfect” writer Kay Cannon in which three unexpected romances take place over the course of one Christmas Eve.

The project does not have a director or cast attached yet. Green is also the author of “Paper Towns” and “Looking for Alaska.”

“Let It Snow” is the first title dated for Dec. 9, 2016. Disney-Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” spinoff “Rogue One” wil open a week later.
