Bibo Bergeron, the helmer of animated pics “Shark Tales” and “A Monster of Paris,” is set to direct the adventure film “Les 4 As,” an adaptation of the comicbook by Georges Chaulet.

“Les 4 As” is being produced Mathias Rubens and Eric Juherian for Recifilms, the outfit behind Jean-Dujardin starrer “Mobius.”

Bergeron is writing the script with Nans Delgado, whose previous credits includes Lisa Azuelos’ coming-of-age hit “LOL.”

The helmer is in Cannes with his first live-action short, “Struck,” which played at COLCOA in Los Angeles and is now screening at the Short Film Corner.

“Les 4 As” follows a group of teenagers involved in zany adventures.

Although the comicbook series was published between 1965 and 1979, Bergeron will transpose the action to the present day.

“In the 1980s there were a lot of great movies entirely starring kids and teenagers but today there are too few,” said Bergeron. “It will be great fun to make a real adventure film with teenagers in the tradition of ‘The Goonies.'”
