In a pre-Berlin announcement, Bruce Willis is returning to familiar turf in the action-thriller “Wake,” with shooting set to begin Feb. 16 in Cleveland.

International Film Trust will introduce the project next month to international buyers at the Berlin Film Festival. CAA is representing U.S. rights.

John Pogue is directing from a script by Chris Borrelli. Producers are Michael Benaroya of Benaroya Pictures, Tobin Armbrust, David Alpert and Chris Cowles.

Willis will portray a sociopath who returns to his childhood home on a remote island for his brother’s wake. When the island comes under siege, he must save the family that banished him from his ancestral home years ago.

Willis will next be seen in Barry Levinson’s “Rock the Kasbah” alongside Bill Murray and Zooey Deschanel. Pogue most recently wrote and directed “The Quiet Ones.”

Willis is repped by CAA. Pogue is repped by Circle of Confusion and Verve. The news was first reported by Screen.
