Broad Green Pictures and Terrence Malick have formed a partnership under which the filmmaker will be based at the recently launched distributor.

Broad Green said as part of the deal, it has acquired U.S. rights to Malick’s “Knight of Cups” as well as his untitled film currently in post-production.

Broad Green and Malick had already teamed on his “Voyage of Time” project.

“Knight of Cups,” starring Christian Bale, premiered in competition at the Berlin Film Festival. Nicolas Gonda, Sarah Green and Ken Kao produced, with Kao financing via his Waypoint Entertainment. Glen Basner and Tanner Beard exec produced.

The same producing team is behind Malick’s untitled film starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett.

“All of us at Broad Green share Malick’s passion for film, and to partner with him on his next three projects is a dream come true,” said Broad Green toppers Gabriel Hammond and Daniel Hammond. “Malick wants to push the creative boundaries in traditional marketing, distribution and social media with these films, and we are so excited to provide him the platform for this innovation.”

The deal was negotiated by WME Global and CAA.
