Billy Eichner Joins Cast of ‘Neighbors 2’

Comedian Billy Eichner has joined the cast of “Neighbors 2,” sources confirm to Variety.

He will star alongside Seth Rogen and Zac Efron in the “Neighbors” sequel, along with Chloe Moretz and Selena Gomez.

“Neighbors” was a surprise hit with $269 million in worldwide grosses. Rose Byrne is set to reprise her role, with Nicholas Stoller returning as director.

The original revolved around a couple whose lives are turned upside-down after declaring war on the fraternity that moved in next door. The sequel’s plot is unknown, though sources say a sorority could be the couple’s problem this time.

Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will produce under their Point Grey Pictures banner. Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake. Writers include Cohen, O’Brien, Rogen, Stoller and Goldberg.

Erik Baiers and Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal, while Erin Westerman is overseeing on behalf of Good Universe, and Josh Fagen will oversee for Point Grey. Both Westerman and Fagen will co-produce.

Eichner is staying busy on both the film and TV fronts with a co-starring role in the New Line comedy “The House” opposite Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler. He also stars in Hulu comedy “Difficult People.”

He is repped by WME and 3 Arts. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
