Guillaume Canet is joining “Fifty Shades of Grey” actor Jamie Dornan in war thriller “Jadotville,” directed by Richie Smyth.

Bloom will introduce “Jadotville” to foreign buyers at Berlin next week. Domestic rights are being repped by UTA Independent Film Group.

Smyth is directing from a script by Kevin Brodbin with Alan Moloney producing under his Parallel Films banner. “Jadotville” is an Irish-South African co-production, which will begin shooting in the spring in South Africa.

Dornan stars as Pat Qunlan, an Irish commandant who leads a stand-off with troops against French and Belgian mercenaries in the Congo during in 1961. Canet will portray a French commander.

Canet’s credits include “Tell No One” and “A Better Life.”

Smyth is represented by UTA and Canet is represented by CAA/UBBA.
