Berlin: Global Screen Picks Up ‘Luis and His Friends From Outer Space’

LONDON — Munich-based sales company Global Screen has acquired extraterrestrial 3D film project “Luis and His Friends From Outer Space,” and will start preselling the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.

“Luis” tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who makes friends with three loveable little aliens, who crash their UFO into his house. In return for Luis’ help in finding the home-shopping channel stuff they came for, they save Luis from boarding school — and an exciting adventure follows.

Christoph and Wolfgang Lauenstein wrote and directed the family feature, which promises hair-raising mix-ups and unexpected twists.

The pic is a production of Ulysses Films, Fabrique d’Images and A.Film Production — three big players in the European animation industry. Ulysses previously produced hit too pic “Niko & the Way to the Stars.”

Currently in pre-production, the movie is planned for delivery in late 2017/early 2018.

Among Global Screen’s current theatrical films are Germany’s Oscar entry “Beloved Sisters,” helmed by Dominik Graf, and Nadav Schirman’s “The Green Prince,” which won the audience award at the Sundance Film Festival last year.
