The long-delayed comedy “Bastards” has received a release date from Warner Bros.: Nov. 4, 2016.
The film marks the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Larry Sher (“The Hangover”) and features an ensemble cast including Ed Helms, Owen Wilson, Ving Rhames, J.K. Simmons, Terry Bradshaw, Katt Williams and Glenn Close.
The R-rated comedy was written by Justin Malen and follows two brothers who were raised believing that their father died when they were young. They learn that he is alive and their mother confesses that she had many lovers during her wild youth at Studio 54. The brothers then set off in search of their father.
The film is being produced by Alcon Entertainment with the company’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. They are partnered with the Montecito Picture Company’s Ivan Reitman, Tom Pollock and Ali Bell. Executive producers are Chris Fenton and Chris Cowles.
The film had previously been at Paramount.
