Backstreet Boys, ‘NSync Team Up for ‘Zombie Western Futuristic Horror Movie’

Backstreet’s back and they’re sharing the screen with ’90s boy band rival Joey Fatone of ‘NSync for an upcoming “zombie Western futuristic horror movie,” Nick Carter recently told Rolling Stone.

Backstreet Boy Carter will write and star in the film, which is being produced by The Asylum, the studio behind the “Sharknado” franchise which confirmed the project’s development. The film is apparently under the working title “Dead 7.”

“I’m the only ‘NSync-er as of now, but you never know,” Fatone told the magazine, adding that Carter plans to “bring some other people in that genre that have never really done a lot of film but that were in music in the Nineties and 2000s.”

Fellow Backstreet boys Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean are also involved in the project, which is reportedly about a motley crew that sets out to fight a zombie plague. A few weeks ago, Dorough and McLead joined Carter at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the film.

In the interview, Carter shared his plans for the film so far. “My character is still being worked out right now,” he said, “But I’m a good guy that’s going to help save the day.” Fatone, meanwhile, says he will play “the drunk.”
