Canadian indie rock outfit Arcade Fire will be the subject of  a documentary by esteemed music video director Kahlil Joseph, it was announced Wednesday.

“The Reflektor Tapes,” which will debut in September, was announced via the launch of a Tumblr page dedicated to the film. The band concurrently released a new music video that doubles as a trailer for the doc.

The pic “will be a unique cinematic experience, meeting at the crossroads of documentary, music, art and personal history,” according to a release. Joseph and his team were spotted filming portions of the band’s “Reflektor” tour last year.

Joseph screened an early cut of the doc for students at CalArts in October, according to a report by Pitchfork.

The band won the Grammy for Album of the Year at the 2011 awards for “The Suburbs,” to the surprise of many. Arcade Fire’s music has been featured in many contemporary indie films; the band also wrote the score for Spike Jonze’s “Her.”

“The Reflektor Tapes” will bow in select theaters September 24.
