With his new movie “Alien Outpost” bowing in theaters and VOD on Friday, Jabbar Raisani has optioned the bestselling “Jack Sigler” book series by Jeremy Robinson.

Raisani plans to adapt and direct “Pulse,” the first book in the series and is currently talking to producers/financiers to develop the property.

“Pulse” starts off with Richard Ridley, founder of Manifold Genetics, having just discovered the key to eternal life: an ancient artifact buried in the Peruvian desert. When Manifold steals the artifact and abducts archeologist Dr. George Pierce, United States Special Forces Delta operator Jack Sigler, call sign “King,” and his “Chess Team” — Queen, Knight, Rook, Bishop — race to save Dr. Pierce and stop Ridley before he changes the face of genetics.

Buzz is beginning to grow on Raisani’s “Alien Outpost,” with the trailer currently ranked number one on iTunes and Hulu. IFC Midnight will release in theaters and all VOD platforms on Jan. 30.

“I have been looking for the right franchise to put my stamp on as a filmmaker, and I have found it in Jeremy Robinson’s Jack Sigler book series,” Raisani said. “The blend of military and supernatural is the perfect union of my two favorite genres.”

Raisani comes from the vfx world and won an Emmy for his work on “Game of Thrones.” Other credits include “Man of Steel” and “Predators.” He is repped by UTA, Inphenate, and attorney Derek Kroeger.
