Fox 2000 is in negotiations to set up a movie version of Alice LaPlante’s thriller “Turn of Mind” with Gail Berman producing through her Jackal Group company.

Gideon Raff is attached to direct and produce. Raff created the Israeli drama series “Prisoners of War,” then won Emmys for writing on its adaptation “Homeland.”

“Turn of Mind,” which became a New York Times bestseller following its 2011 publication, centers on a retired surgeon whose best friend has been murdered, with four fingers surgically removed. Because the surgeon suffers from Alzheimers, she’s uncertain whether she has committed the murder — and finds herself considered the prime suspect.

Marisa Paiva will oversee the project for Fox 2000. Rory Koslow is overseeing for The Jackal Group.

Variety reported in February that Berman’s company had signed a first look feature film deal with Fox 2000. She has Jesse Owens biopic “The Runner” set up at Disney with Netter Films’ Gil Netter also producing and Antoine Fuqua attached to direct; an untitled feature for Warner Bros. based on the life of Elvis Presley with Baz Luhrmann attached to direct from a Kelly Marcel screenplay; and an “Addams Family” animated film for MGM.

Raff is repped by WME.

News about “Turn of Mind” was first reported by The Tracking Board.
