Johnny Depp will be presented with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the 27th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Depp will join previously announced honorees Cate Blanchett and Saoirse Ronan at the Awards Gala on Jan. 2. He is being recognized for his portrayal of Whitey Bulger in “Black Mass.”

He delivers an astounding performance that has earned raves from both critics and audiences and is sure to garner awards attention.”
Depp was also recently announced as the recipient of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Modern Master Award.
