Saif Ali Khan is to star in an official remake of Nicole Kidman/Colin Firth starrer “Before I Go to Sleep,” directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah (“Aankhen”).

Cinema Capital Group teamed with Original Entertainment to acquire the rights to the 2014 release from Millennium Films, based on the book by S. J. Watson. It’s in addition to a five-picture deal Original partners Daljit D.J. Parmar and Hunt Lowry and WaterFront Films’ Samir Gupta have with Millennium that includes “Rambo” and “The Expendables.”

Production is set to start in September.

Khan is among the top Bollywood actors, starring in such hits as “Kal ho naa ho” and “Parineeta” as well as 2014’s “Happy Endings.”

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Original Entertainment in adapting the best of Hollywood content for the Indian film audiences,” Gupta said.

“Vipul is an extremely talented director and we are excited to be producing this remake with Sunshine Pictures,” Parmar said.

Mark Gill, Lonnie Ramati and Dimiter Nikolov helped negotiate the deal with Millennium Films.
