Fox distributed the film in Argentina, where it is the biggest local pic ever at the box office.
Curzon Film World, whose recent releases include “Still Alice” and Denis Villeneuve’s “Enemy,” has taken U.K. rights; Cinemien has acquired Benelux. Both plan theatrical releases, said Film Factory’s Vicente Canales, “The Clan’s” sales agent.
In studio pre-sales, Warner Bros. Pictures Espana will release in Spain, while Fox has all Latin American rights. Big territory deals also include France, with Diaphana, and Germany, with Prokino.
After its Venice competition bow, “The Clan” plays in Toronto’s Platform on Sept. 16, TIFF’s new competition sidebar.
