Berlin: Lotus Sells Keanu Reeves Starrer ‘Replicas’ to Multiple Territories (EXCLUSIVE)

Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel’s Lotus Entertainment has sold Tanya Wexler’s sci-fi thriller “Replicas,” which stars Keanu Reeves, to multiple territories.

Pic has been sold to Benelux, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Portugal, Scandinavia, Turkey, CIS, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Asian pay TV, Taiwan, Thailand, Middle East, South Africa, Australia/New Zealand and airlines.

“Replicas” is based on a screenplay by Chad St. John, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Stephen Hamel, Reeves and Fundamental Films. Company Films’ partners Hamel and Reeves developed the script based on Hamel’s treatment. Lotus introduced the pic to foreign buyers at AFM.

“Replicas” is the third collaboration between Lotus and Di Bonaventura following Luis Prieto’s “Kidnap,” starring Halle Berry, and the remake of “Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance,” which is in development.

Lotus recently sold rights for the English-speaking world, including the U.S. and Canada, as well as select international territories, on Sacha Gervasi’s “November Criminals” to Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Pic stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Ansel Elgort.

Lotus inked a deal last month with Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions for U.S. rights to Craig Zobel’s “Z for Zachariah,” which stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Chris Pine and Margot Robbie. Pic played in Sundance.

The slate also includes Xavier Gens’ thriller “The Crucifixion,” from a screenplay by Chad and Carey Hayes; and Shekhar Kapur’s epic adventure “Tiger’s Curse,” based on the first in a series of bestselling novels.
