LONDON — France’s Tax Rebate for International Production will be one of the subjects to be discussed during presentations at the Focus Production Location Trade Show in London on Dec. 14 and 15. Mark Hubbard, the producer of “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie,” will be one of the speakers.

Panelists will also include Melanie Chebance, head of producers’ relation at Film France, which is France’s film commission; Red Planet’s Alex Jones, producer of BBC series “Death in Paradise,” which shot in France’s Guadeloupe; and Tony Coco-Viloin, the film commissioner in Guadeloupe.

In another session, Emma Boswell of The Helicopter Girls will talk about the creative potential of drone technology. Andy Pavord from FilmFixer, which represents almost a third of London’s boroughs, will advise on the regulations surrounding the use of the technology. Cinematographer Nicola Daley will join the discussion.

Focus will also host a production accounting workshop, aimed at low-budget producers. Sam Scowcroft and Lucy Drake from Money Penny will demonstrate the cloud-based production accounting initiative that the company has developed to support budget-challenged productions. Line producer Farah Abushwesha will talk about her own experience of developing and funding low-budget productions.

Other panels will look at virtual reality, U.K. location libraries, South Korea and Panama as locations, and the best digital tool in pre-production.
