Los Cabos Film Festival Announces In Progress, Discovery Programs

The Los Cabos Film Festival has selected seven Mexican films in post-production for the Cabos in Progress program, and 13 projects for the Discovery selection.

Films selected are screened for programmers of international film festivals, sales agents and distributors, as well as being entered in the Los Cabos Goes to Cannes selection.

Mexican films in post-production are “Bellas de Noche,” “Carrona,” “El fracaso,” “La habitación,” “Los paisajes,” “Somos lengua” and “Verónica.”

The Cabos Discovery section is a forum for projects in development made or co-produced with Mexico, the U.S. or Canada, and filmmakers of selected projects are able to meet with international professionals to discuss financing, production and distribution.

The projects competing in the Discovery section are Canada’s “Sunbathing in Hell,” “I’m Not a Bad Person” and “Merciful,” U.S. productions “Nancy” and “Picking Cotton” along with U.S./Mexico production “Salon de Belleza” and U.S./Syria/Qatar production “The Taste of the Apple is Red.” Mexican projects include Jorge Michel Grau’s “Calla,” “Gunpowder Seeds,” “Memoria de los dias rojos,” “Skin Deep,” “Casi el paraiso” and “Opus Zero.”
