In a galaxy far, far away (the famed Hall H of San Diego’s Comic-Con), “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams waved his hand and sent donuts to hungry fans waiting in line.
Fans began tweeting and Instagramming photos of donuts while waiting in line Friday for the big “Star Wars” panel at SDCC.

Hall H holds 6,100 people, and nearly that many fans had been waiting in line for the panel for at least 24 hours ahead of the event.
Abrams’ donut offerings are sure to spur excitement for the film, which is already at cosmic levels thanks to a pair of high-octane trailers. Perhaps George Lucas would be more inclined to watch footage of the new installment if Abrams were to send him a donut.
The U.S. release of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” is scheduled for Dec. 18.
