Italo pubcaster RAI’s sales arm RAI Com is kicking off sales in Cannes on two promising Italian productions, animated Neapolitan mob fable “Cinderella the Cat” and Gabriele Muccino’s coming-of-ager “Summertime.”

In “Cinderella the Cat,” pictured, the titular character’s father is killed by the Camorra gangs that run the Naples port, with her stepmother’s complicity. Toon is being produced by Luciano Stella’s Mad Entertainment, the same shingle behind breakout Neapolitan feature “The Art of Happiness,” which won the 2014 European Film Award in the animation category. Ivan Cappiello, Marino Guarnieri, Alessandro Rak and Dario Sansone share directing credits. Plan is for 2016 delivery.

Muccino’s “Summertime,” which is currently shooting, is an ensemble coming-of-age/road movie set in Rome, San Francisco, New Orleans and Cuba, starring Matilda Lutz, the young Italian actress who will play the lead in the next chapter in the “Ring” franchise; Italian TV actor Brando Pacitto (“Braccialetti Rossi”); and American actors Joseph Haro  and Taylor Frey.

Expanding Italian shingle Indiana Production (“Human Capital”) is producing the pic in collaboration with RAI Cinema.
