Paramount Ups Bob Buchi to Worldwide Home Media Distribution Head

Paramount Pictures has promoted veteran executive Bob Buchi to the post of president of worldwide home media distribution.

Buchi — who takes over for Dennis Maguire, who exited last month amid a broader Viacom restructuring — previously was the studio’s executive VP of worldwide marketing. He will report to Megan Colligan, president of worldwide distribution and marketing.

“Within an ever-evolving home media landscape, Bob’s proven track record of success across a diverse portfolio of theatrical releases, acquisitions, family and television product makes him the ideal person to lead our team as we continue to strive for even greater creativity and innovation,” Colligan said.

Buchi joined the studio in 2006. He was responsible for the strategic product marketing and management of the “Trasnformers,” “Star Trek,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Paranormal Activity” franchises.

The studio also announced that Peter Giannascoli, senior VP of marketing for home media, will be expanding his role to include oversight of all aspects of worldwide marketing for the division.
