The Dallas Film Society announced Tuesday that actress Isabella Rossellini will receive its Dallas STAR Award at the 6th annual The Art of Film gala in November. Previous honorees have included Robert Duvall, John Lithgow, Val Kilmer, Lee Daniels and Marisa Tomei.
The recognition comes at a key time for Rossellini, a legend of stage and screen who won an Independent Spirit Award in 1987 for her performance in David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet”: She appears later this year in David O. Russell’s “Joy” in a role that could bring her supporting actress Oscar recognition.
The actress also landed a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in TV’s “Crime of the Century,” as well as an Emmy nod for her guest appearance in “Chicago Hope.”
Proceeds from the evening go to the Society’s year-round programming and the 10th annual Dallas International Film Festival, which runs April 14 to 24, 2016.
Rossellini is repped by APA and Art/Work Entertainment.
