A film project market will be added to the roster of events that sit alongside the Asia TV Forum & Market in Singapore at the end of the year.

The Southeast Asian Film Financing Project Market is co-organized by the Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association and by Europe’s Ties That Bind organization. It will be part of the ScreenSingapore event and will run Dec. 2-4.

The market will select 10 in-development fiction and non-fiction feature film projects for assistance. They will be matched with commissioning editors, investors and co-production partners.

“[The market is] a bold new initiative to advance creative development regionally and to institutionalise the media investment landscape in Southeast Asia,” said Justin Deimen, executive director of SAAVA.

For several years Ties That Bind has worked within the Festival of Far East Film in Udine Italy, and the Busan festival in South Korea. The alliance with SAAVA means that the connection with Busan has now been dropped.

The Singapore Media Festival also includes the Singapore International Film Festival (Nov. 26 – Dec. 6), and the ATF (Dec. 2-4).
