Former KOFIC Head Lee Chung-jik to Lead Jeonju Film Festival

The Jeonju International Film Festival, Korea’s second largest film festival, has appointed academic Lee Chung-jik as its new director. He serves a three year term starting immediately.

Lee previously headed the Korean Film Council (then known as the Korean Film Commission), between 2002—2005. He also headed the Seoul International Independent Film Festival in its first year. He has producing credits including films “Nowhere to Turn,” and “The Pot.”

Lee said he would focus on building on the festival’s “digital,” “independent,” and “alternative” cinema strengths.
