“Distance,” an omnibus film produced by Anthony Chen, has been set as the opening title of Taiwan’s Golden Horse Film Festival (Nov 5-21). “Tag-Along” by Taiwanese director Chen Wei-hao is set as the closer.

“Distance” includes contributions by three young directors Xin Yukun, Tan Shijie and Sivaroj Kongsakul, from China, Singapore and Thailand respectively. All take on the themes of how people surpass regrets and lost while restoring strength for new direction. The film stars Chen Bo-lin Paul Chun and Jiang Wenli.

“The Tag-Along” is the screen adaptation of a notorious urban legend about paranormal event featuring a mysterious girl in red.

Cheng previously made short film “Real Sniper,” which was presented at the 2009 edition of the Golden Horse festival, and also recently made “Death of a Security Guard,” which won the best short film prize at the most recent Taipei Film Awards.

The 52nd Golden Horse Awards ceremony will be held at National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall on Nov. 21.
