YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Robin Thicke, the pop singer son of actor Alan Thicke and former soap star Gloria Loring, has had a roller-coaster couple of years. In 2013 he co-wrote and co-performed — along with Pharrell and T.I. — the absurdly catchy but crazily disputatious ditty “Blurred Lines,” which sky-rocketed to the top of the charts and landed Mister Thicke on stage at the VMAs in a black-and-white striped suit with an underwear-clad and tongue-wagging Miley Cyrus gyrating all up on him. Remember that bit of lowbrow pop culture shenanigans, children? Anyways, the following year Mister Thicke and Paula Patton, his actress wife of almost 10 years, split up — a probably painful experience that was relentlessly detailed in all the tabs — and just a couple months ago, a jury decided “Blurred Lines” bears too close a resemblance to Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up” and ordered Mister Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. to pay Mister Gaye’s family $7.3 million in damages for copyright infringement. However, things just might be looking up for Mister Thicke. Now that he’s sold his rather unattractive but desirably located house in the the Birds ‘hood above the Sunset Strip in late March — for $1.915 million over the $2.985 million asking price, mind y’all — the 37-year-old singer landed himself a new, 20-year-old girlfriend and, as was first revealed by gossip juggernaut TMZ, a multimillion-dollar equestrian compound in Malibu that he bought for its full asking price of $2.395 million.

Online marketing materials Your Mama peeped and perused don’t indicate the square footage of the late-1950s post-and-beam built residence, but the L.A. County Tax Man puts it at 2,369 square feet, which may or may not be an accurate figure. The low-slung, single-story house, on 1.71 acres with an over- and through-the-trees ocean view, has an open plan main living/dining/kitchen area with exposed wood ceiling and glass doors to the outdoor living areas. There are, per listing details and other online resources, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two fireplaces, at least one of which has a black granite hearth and a floating, brushed stainless steel mantel. The house has been seismically retrofitted and offers updated copper plumbing, an eight-line phone system, 400 amp electric service and surroundsound, while the extensive grounds encompass 7,000 square feet of lawn, 2,000 square feet of decking — some of it trellis shaded — 60 fruit trees and horse facilities that include a four-stall stable, tack room, a full-sized riding area and a couple of fenced paddocks. What the property does not have, water conservationists can take note, is a swimming pool.

Interestingly enough, Mister Thicke’s ex-wife also moved west from their former Sunset Strip home. Last summer, two of Your Mama’s better informed snitches told Your Mama that Miz Patton quietly shelled out a smidgen over $2 million for a sprawling, 1960s split-level ranch in the secluded and arguably semi-remote Monte Nido area in the Santa Monica Mountains between Calabasas and Malibu.
