YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Hilary Swank has come a long way from a her childhood home in a trailer park in Bellingham, WA, to owning multi-million dollar residences in some of the country’s most coveted and expensive zip codes on both costs, including a pied-a-terre in New York City’s radically gentrified far West Village, we first heard over the weekend from an anonymous tipster, she set out for lease late last week as a fully furnished rental for a minimum of one year at $20,000 per month.

The two-time Oscar-winning actor and occasional producer, arguably without a hit movie since 2004’s “Million Dollar Baby” and currently signed on to co-star in the upcoming, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu co-created, written and directed dramatic cable television series “The One Percent” with Ed Harris and Ed Helms, picked up the top floor pied-a-terre in the — ahem — swanky Superior Ink complex during the latter days of 2009 for $3,640,000. Current online lease listings show the sunshine-splashed corner unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,441 square feet with open eastern and/or southern city views from every window.

The apartment takes on decidedly masculine decorative aspect with medium glossy, coffee-colored herringbone pattern wood floors; a mostly cream, grey and brown palette of boxy and tailored furnishings; and, in the open-concept main living space, an entire wall clad in rustic, reclaimed wood planks. Floor-to-ceiling arched windows on two walls at the living room end of the main living area — one with a Juliet balcony that’s sure do make acrophobics sweat like a sow — means the rather tiny television got awkwardly mounted in the corner of the room. The open, galley-style kitchen isn’t particularly big — it’s New York City, after all — but does have all the necessary counter space and accoutrement for whipping up simple meals and unpacking the Chinese take out and the tidily dressed condo does conveniently include a full-sized washer and dryer in a closet just off the entrance hall. The smaller of the two bedrooms is done up as a cozy den/library with floating bookshelves while the larger and lighter hued master bedroom has seal-colored silk woven carpeting that is surely as soft underfoot as baby skin; a total of three closets, including a roomy walk-in; and an adequately spacious if windowless bathroom fitted with double-sink vanity, soaking tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, and a toilet set discreetly in a cubby behind a frosted sliding glass panel.

One the West Coast Miz Swank continues to own a 6,722-square-foot, 1920s Mediterranean mini-mansion on a winding cul-de-sac the mansion-dotted mountains of Pacific Palisades that she picked up in March 2007 for $5.8 million. Avid celebrity real estate watchers will recall she’s several times unsuccessfully tried to sell the six bedroom and 6.5 bathroom ocean-view property for sale, first in 2012 at $9.495 million, then again the following year at the same price, and yet again last year, from late May through mid August, at the by now familiar price of $9.495 million.
