Donovan Leitch and Kirsty Hume List Studio City Home

SELLERS: Kirsty Hume and Donovan Leitch
LOCATION: Studio City, Calif.
PRICE: $1.699 million
SIZE: 2,068 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Though arty-farty musician and occasional documentary film producer Donovan Leitch and stunning, Scottish-born supermodel Kirsty Hume split up several years ago — and, indeed, Mister Leitch is spiritually united and recently made a baby with pretty blonde bit part actress Libby Mintz — they’re just now getting around to selling their former marital home in the hills above Studio City, Calif., that has come up for sale with an asking price of $1.699 million.

Property records show the statuesque catwalker and the music industry scion — his father is uni-named Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Donovan —purchased the woodsy, nearly half-acre spread in the fall of 2007 for $1.435 million, and current listing details show the existing house, tucked behind an unkempt tangle of shrubbery and described in online marketing materials as a “New Orleans-style ultra private gated retreat,” has a total of three bedrooms and three bathrooms between the approximately 2,068-square-foot main house and the about 400-square-foot guest suite perched atop the two-car garage with separate entrance.

The U-shaped residence, originally built in the 1950s and decoratively decked out with a pattern rich, eclectically colorful and globally minded boho-chic flair, features a proper entrance hall with stained glass windows and a banal beige tile flooring and a large living room with sky blue accent wall, medium brown wood floors, a wood-burning fireplace with elegantly pilastered mantelpiece, two sets of French doors and a couple of over-sized multipane windows that decadently drop just about to the floor. A fully glassed sunroom that does triple duty as a dining room and painting studio — our research revealed Miz Hume is an amateur painter —opens to a slender deck nestled into the surrounding treetops. The kitchen has a small eating/sitting area with what this property gossips considers unfortunate butterfly print wallpaper, custom cabinets fashioned from reclaimed wood, almost preposterously thick solid surface or possibly concrete countertops the color of a pale pea soup and  a full collection of high-grade commercial-style appliances.

The lone guest/family bedroom in the two bedroom main house has loads of built-in storage cabinetry and wardrobes and an adjoining bathroom with sea foam green subway tiled tub/shower combination, while the master bedroom offers a private restroom did up in another shade of green and a pair of French doors that open to a petite central courtyard with shallow, vine draped loggia and a picayune and particularly lovely oval-shaped swimming pool.
