New York’s largest residential brokerage, Douglas Elliman, has been in operation in Southern California for only a year, but there’s no question among SoCal real estate watchers that it’s serious about playing in the hotly competitive L.A. market. The company has already enticed a number of high-profile top producers, like “Million Dollar Listing” star Josh Altman, to join its team, and it will soon set down real estate roots, with swanky West Coast headquarters in Beverly Hills.
The powerhouse brokerage has signed a decade-long lease, and engaged the services of L.A.-based and globally renowned architect Patrick Tighe to work over a two-floor, 11,000-square-foot space on El Camino Drive that will feature an open floor plan, sculptural staircase and cutting-edge technologies. The office will accommodate more than 100 agents, as well as support staff and a new development-marketing department.
“Building a new office in Beverly Hills signifies Douglas Elliman’s commitment and position as a major force in Los Angeles,” said company chairman Howard M. Lorber. The offices are slated to open in early fall.
