Given that Emmy- and Tony- winning “Without a Trace” star Anthony LaPaglia and his long-time wife, Gia Carides, filed for divorce earlier this year, it won’t likely surprise avid celebrity real estate watchers that the former couple have their longtime residence in L.A.’s low-key but high-priced Brentwood Park neighborhood up for sale, with a recently reduced asking price of just under $11 million. According to property records and ever-in-the-know informant Lucy Spillerguts, the erstwhile couple, both showbiz veterans who hail from Australia, scooped up the casually luxurious spread in the fall of 2000 for $4.45 million.
Current listing details show the updated and upgraded, circa-1940s Cape Cod, set behind a remarkably high hedge on a pancake-flat half-acre corner parcel, spans about 5,500 square feet, with five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, and library nook. A fancy farmhouse-style kitchen adjoins a sunny breakfast nook and an airy family room with soaring ceiling and exposed brick wall, which opens through a towering wall of glass to the yard. There are four en suite guest bedrooms — two upstairs and two on the main floor — plus a roomy master suite with fireplace and dual closets and bathrooms. A separate guesthouse alongside the red brick terrace-ringed swimming pool contains a lounge, gym, guest suite and staff bedroom, while the grounds include a broad sweep of lawn, extensive decking, a sports court and a gated parking pad with three-car garage.
LaPaglia previously owned a townhouse in New York City’s West Village that he bought in 1995 for $1.3 million, and sold in 2012 for $7 million to real estate home-building mogul Ara Hovnanian.
