Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer and Lionsgate are developing “The Rook,” a new one-hour series that will play on Hulu and on an unnamed U.K. broadcaster.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer disclosed the news Tuesday during the studio’s earnings call with analysts. He gave few other details other than noting that Meyer will executive produce, the series has a new female protagonist with “extraordinary powers” and that the studio has a well-established relationship with Meyer.

“The Rook,” a novel by Daniel O’Malley, is set in London where the central character awakens with no memory and discovers that she is an operative in a secret agency that protects the world from supernatural threats.

The five-film “Twilight Saga” series generated $3.3 billion at the worldwide box office for Summit and Lionsgate. Meyer was a producer on the final two films.

Meyer also produced “The Host,” an adaptation of her romantic sci-fi novel, and Keri Russell’s comedy “Austenland,” through her shingle Fickle Fish Films.
