Tia Mowry to Host Digital Series ‘Forever Family’ for Meredith Corp., Believe Entertainment

Tia Mowry will host “Forever Family,” one of the first digital series Meredith Corp. is producing through its Meredith Originals team and will distribute across the company’s portfolio of online properties, including Parents.com.

Believe Entertainment is producing the show, described as a docu-series that will focus on families’ challenges with fertility in America as it follows multiple couples over 10 episodes. It will launch in the second half of the year.

The company also will finance “Forever Family” and sell and distribute the series online, including to Mowry’s more than 6 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“This show means a lot to me because of my own challenges with starting a family, and I’m excited to help lend my support and encouragement to all those out there who are going through the process of trying to create or grow their own families,” said Mowry, the former “Sister Sister” star who now headlines and produces Nickelodeon’s “Instant Mom,” recently renewed for a third season. She also starred in and produced Style Network’s “Tia & Tamera.”

Believe’s Dan Goodman and William Masterson III, based in New York, previously launched Seth MacFarlane’s “Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy,” an online effort to support Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno,” as well as original shortform content comedy troupe the Second City, as well as two seasons of the animated Web series “The LeBrons,” featuring LeBron James.

Through shows like “Forever Family,” Believe sees an opportunity for companies like Meredith not only to expand into the original content space but also to connect with its audience and advertisers in new ways. Meredith’s Parents portfolio includes American Baby Family Fun and Ser Padres.

“We’re always trying to find new outlets based on how audiences are changing when it comes to media consumption,” Goodman told Variety. “(‘Forever Family’) is based on life stages and is a redefinition of family in today’s day and age and the quest of couples to create family and what that means from families who’ve never had kids before to established families who are already one but are bringing their expertise and stories of success to the table.”

Conrad Ricketts, a former executive producer of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and veteran reality producer Peter Cohen, created “Forever Family,” and will executive produce the series with Believe’s partners Goodman, Masterson and Danny Fishman. Mowry also will be an executive producer on the project.

“With 6.7 million women in the United States having difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant, the timing couldn’t be more appropriate for a series like this,” said co-creators Cohen and Ricketts in a statement.

Meredith will promote “Forever Family” across its various print and online channels, and network of syndication partners. It also will launch a separate website for the series that provides an online resource and community for those dealing with the real-life challenges of infertility.

“As we continue to innovate in premium content with Meredith Originals, ‘Forever Family’ is a valuable opportunity to engage our audience with storytelling that’s relevant and informative,” said Laura Rowley, VP for video production and product with Meredith Corp. “Meredith reaches more than 100 million women and 60% of millennial women adults monthly across our digital and traditional platforms. ‘Forever Family’ is a powerful series that will resonate with our audience.”
