Honda to Sponsor ‘Community’ on Yahoo Screen

Honda has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the sixth season of “Community,” which will debut on Yahoo Screen on March 17.

The automaker’s sponsorship includes several integrations in the show, pre-roll video ads on new episodes and series highlights, as well as premium display and audience advertising across Yahoo’s extended network as part of a one-year, online video upfront program. An upcoming episode, for example, will feature the redesigned Honda CR-V, with which the show’s characters will interact.

“‘Community,’ now on Yahoo Screen, has an incredible and loyal fan following, creating the perfect opportunity for us to connect with our audience in a new way across multiple screens,” said Tom Peyton, assistant VP of marketing, American Honda. “Working with Yahoo, we’re excited to not only be part of the sixth season of ‘Community,’ but leverage the maturing world of online video through the distribution of original content.”

“Community” was canceled by NBC after its fifth season before winning a surprise sixth season renewal on Yahoo Screen. It stars returning cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong, along with new stars Paget Brewster and Keith David.

The 13-episode sixth season is a Krasnoff-Foster Entertainment and Harmonious Claptrap production, in association with Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television.
