The series, which was announced in June, is made up of six 22-minute episodes showcasing the “Dancing With the Stars” alum either at a celebrity’s home or a favorite restaurant. As the central theme to the series, food is used as a catalyst for sparking memories of favorite meals or sentimental recipes for celebrity guests like Florence Henderson and Roma Downey (see below for full lineup). Cooking demonstrations are also featured on the show.
“This celebrity food show is a walk down memory lane through one’s pallet and how food triggers certain memories and experiences in everyone,” said Burke. “I feel it’s an important reminder how we need to hit the pause button and connect with people over a meaningful meal with absolutely no distractions.”
The original talk show platform is a first for Feeln, a subsidiary of Hallmark that’s available for a monthly or yearly fee on mobile devices, tablets, set-top devices and online platforms. It previously premiered a reboot of “Rainbow Brite” featuring the voices of Emily Osment and Molly Ringwald. Burke exec produces “Breaking Bread” with Feeln founder and CEO Rob Fried, Cristina Malavenda, Laurence Braun and David Harte.
“We wanted our first talk show to resonate with viewers, and feature someone with whom they felt a connection,” said Fried. “Brooke Burke shines in every episode as she shares favorite meals together with her guests, and discusses the importance of home, family and favorite memories.”
