Apple opened its annual event Wednesday with a showcase for Apple Watch, touting new apps from Facebook Messenger and GoPro.
“Apple Watch is helping our users live a better day,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook, noting customer satisfaction is at 97% after just a matter of months.
Developers have created 10,000 apps on Apple Watch in a matter of months, including some that can display video. New operating system will help support Watch OS2 launch in Sept. 16.
The first new app Apple signaled was on the way is Facebook Messenger, which allows users to send text, audio messages and share their location from the device.
GoPro also has a new Apple Watch app that providers a viewfinder that could be used in concert with GoPro cameras.
AirStrip, an app that allows for messaging health-care-related issues, also got some focus at the event.
Apple also showcased new models of the device through a partnership with Hermes. New bands are also being introduced later in the fall.
The new apps were introduced amid an event that also provided a showcase for another new Apple products including iPhone 6S, Apple TV and iPad Pro.
